To be completely honest, I thought this book would be unbearably boring and another story I would force myself to finish. I am not a fan of crime suspense and the thought of reading a girls story of what she observes on a train was putting me to sleep before I even started...but I was completely caught off guard and by page 30 I couldn't put down the book!! It was such a page turner that I had to slow myself down and save some for the next day.

At times I totally bonded with Rachel and could see myself relating to her and other times I wish she was my friend so I could shake some sense into her! Even though I had a love hate relationship with the characters, I appreciated the fact the author did not sugar coat them or the story lines. As ugly as their lives were, they were believable and realistic.

Two characters stood out to me and the messages I got from reading their stories. Rachel did what I assume a lot of us do, or have done, which is imagine someone's life based off of observations, but knowing nothing about them. But as the saying goes, "all that glitters is not gold" and Rachel learned the hard way. Anna was an interesting character because she was a mistress and proud to be one! Her message - Karma's a bitch, but only if you're a bitch too! I don't know any "Anna's" in my life, and there's a reason for that!

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and already have a list of friends who I told can borrow it now that I have read it. Can't wait for the movie!!

xoxo,

Cyn
